Welcome to Together ("Together," "we," "our," or "us"). Together is a social networking platform designed to help people discover new friendships, connect with like-minded individuals nearby, participate in events, and communicate through our platform.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how we protect it, and your rights regarding your information.
By using Together, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect: name, email address, profile photo (if provided), date of birth (used to verify you are 18 or older), gender, country/current city, and account authentication information (Google, Apple, or Facebook Sign-In, or email/password).
Profile Information
To improve matching and recommendations, you may choose to provide: interests and tags you select from our list of categories, a personal bio ("About Me"), a short status shown to nearby users describing what you're up for, and photos you upload. Providing this profile information is voluntary.
Location Information
Together uses your location to show nearby members, display nearby events, and improve local recommendations. Depending on your settings, we may collect approximate or precise GPS location. You can disable location access through your device settings, although some features may not function properly without it.
Messages
When you communicate with other users through Together, we collect messages sent and received, and the time and date of messages. Messages are stored to provide the service and improve reliability.
Event Activity
If you create or join events, we collect events created, events joined, and your participation status (Going / Interested).
Safety and Moderation Data
To keep the platform safe, we collect reports submitted about other users, records of users you have blocked, and records of photo moderation checks performed on uploaded photos. This information is used to enforce our Community Guidelines and is not shared with the user being reported except as required by law.
Device Information
We automatically collect device type, operating system, app version, language settings, device identifiers, IP address, crash reports, and diagnostic information.
Usage Information
We collect information about how you use Together, including pages viewed, features used, search activity, profile interactions, session duration, and notification interactions.
Together does not intentionally collect: financial information, credit card information, government-issued identification, biometric information, health records, or contact lists (unless you explicitly grant permission for a future feature).
Together uses artificial intelligence, provided by OpenAI, to support certain features, including: automatically reviewing uploaded photos to check that they show a real person and do not contain inappropriate or unsafe content; generating suggested conversation starters based on shared interests or event details; and powering an in-app AI assistant.
Photos and limited profile or conversation context may be sent to OpenAI to provide these features. AI is used as a supportive tool and does not make legally significant decisions about users on its own.
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:
Service Providers, who process information only on our behalf, including: Supabase (database and backend infrastructure), Google, Apple, and Facebook (sign-in authentication), Firebase (delivery of push notifications only), OpenAI (AI-powered features described above), and cloud hosting and analytics providers.
Legal Requests — we may disclose information if required by law, to comply with legal obligations, respond to lawful requests, protect users, investigate fraud, or enforce our Terms.
Business Transfers — if Together is acquired or merged, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
Information you choose to include in your profile may be visible to other Together users, including your name, photos, bio, interests, age (or age range), and location (depending on your settings). You control much of the information you choose to display.
We retain your information while your account remains active. If you delete your account, your profile is removed and your personal information is deleted or anonymized within a reasonable period, unless required by law. Certain records (such as reports or blocks involving your account) may be retained for fraud prevention or legal compliance.
We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure authentication, database access controls, and monitoring. However, no system is completely secure.
Together is intended only for users aged 18 years or older. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If we discover an underage account, it may be removed.
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access your information, correct inaccurate information, delete your account, request a copy of your data, withdraw consent, or object to certain processing.
